Newest Works, July 2010

I got a rather strange request recently from my friend Darius. He wanted a painting with the Dramatic Chipmunk, getting served tea by the Mad Hatter. (For those of you who haven't seen the 5-second Dramatic Chipmunk video yet, you can check out the YouTube video here. Also, the Best Of Dramatic Chipmunk video is hilarious.)

Another friend also requested some artwork. Erin wanted a set of three music-themed paintings for above a couch. I liked this idea, so I got right down to work. This is what I came up with.




These are Erin's main musical outlets (and mine) so I thought the trio was appropriate : )


Also, I just did the next one just for me.

 Love in Copper

What do you think of the colors? Does it look like copper? I'd like to hear some comments on this one, I had the idea to go for a natural material, and ended up finding that a Google search of "copper tarnish" finds some beautiful colors.

    I love the Dramatic Chipmunk. What a strange request but it sure produced a pretty amazing piece of art.

    It does looks more like copper in when you look at the actual picture. The copper doesn't really come through the JPEG.
